The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0010 (08/20/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0010 (08/20/2008)

Episode 10 of The Hank in Chains Show explores the world of underground country music… the styles of country music damned by corporate Nashville. The artists played on this episode aren’t CMT trash. Instead, regardless of the style of country they write and perform, their music still has soul… the same kind of country soul that Hank, Lefty, Cash, Merle, and Waylon possessed. They are also the artists that would perform as part of a revived Louisiana Hayride… the Opry’s old rival in the 40s and 50s. While no one knows if this revival will ever happen, this week’s episode of The Hank in Chains Show displays how strong such a show would be.

Artists/Bands Featured include: Hank Williams III, Dale Watson, The Gin Palace Jesters, James Scott Bullard, Songs from the Road Band, Hot Club of Cow Town, The Straight 8’s, Justin Townes Earle, The Hackensaw Boys, Brian McGee and The Hollow Speed, Those Poor Bastards, Wayne Hancock, Robbie Fulks, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, and many more!

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0009 (08/13/2008)

Episode 9 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of The White Stripes. Since the late 1990s, guitarist Jack White and drummer Meg White have been gracing the world with their unique blend of rock and roll, fused with elements of blues, country, bluegrass, and several other genres. Eric Morningstar and I take a look at their music and discuss how their incredible sound is far more complex than their often minimalistic instrument arrangements.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: The Kinks, Stone Temple Pilots, Merle Haggard, Watermelon Slim and The Workers, Wiser Time, Dana Fuchs, Powder Mill, The Paybacks, High School Caesar, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, and Mudcrutch.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0018
Twang Aint Just A Guy Thang

Shame on you if you think that only guys can make kick ass REAL country music! In this episode of IBWIP we introduce you to just a few of the talented (and beautiful) ladies that are out there putting their own THANG in TWANG. We were lucky enough to get to have Rachel Brooke as our featured interview. She’s got an amazing voice and a style all her own. We are also going to feature music from Star Anna, Elizabeth Cook, Carmen Lee, and Little Lisa Dixie.

Of course it wouldn’t be an episode of IBWIP without another great comedy skit. Unfortunately, we are unable to mention the title do to the legal issues that we have currently found ourselves in (which we talk about anyway). Trust us though, it’s well worth the listen. Of course we have another great giveaway featuring a Rachel Brooke Giveaway Pack. That’s right, not just a CD, but a whole lot more so make sure you email your answer to us. The cast talks about it’s up coming road trip to Cincinnati, OH for the Metal Farm Magazine Release Party. If you live in the area let us know so we can all get together!

We welcome back Creedy Guy as our co-host, read some fan feedback, and make some big announcements about IBWIP.com.  IBWIP Store, and the big Metal Farm Magazine Release Party. And finally, back by popular demand, we have Norma Jean watching more porn. You think we grossed her out with the last one, just wait to hear how she reacts to this one!

So wrap it up and download Episode 18 today. If you don’t then Creepy Guy is going to come to your house and peak in your windows.
