The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0025 (07/15/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0025 (07/15/2009)

On July 15th, The Hank in Chains Show will feature some of the greatest live performances of Bruce Springsteen from the past 30 years. Since taking the world by storm with his hall of fame album Born to Run in the mid 70s, Springsteen and his E-Street Band have become even more well-known for their always incredible live performances. The Boss started building his live music legacy in the 70s, and despite an E-Street hiatus during the late 80s/early 90s, he hasn’t lost a step!

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: BR549, George Harrison, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Black Keys, Willie Phoenix, Chuck Mead, The Petty Bones, Gary Bennett, Mudcrutch, Dana Fuchs, 66 Crush, The Devil Makes Three, and Chris Scruggs.

“Texas Is Its Own Country’s Country”

This weeks bootleg set was recorded on 6/21/2009 by Mike Kerr at the Sportsman’s Tavern in Buffalo, NY featuring “Lucky Tubb and the Modern Day Troubadours“. Lucky Tubb, who currently is opening for Hank III & Assjack, is the great nephew of the legendary honky tonk singer, Ernest Tubb. Ernest was one of the biggest stars in country music history who amassed no fewer than 82 hits between 1944 and 1979. Poor ol’ Lucky is going to enjoy about 82 hits fewer than that, not because he’s bad, in fact he’s good, very good, but he suffers from the modern day syndrome of being too country. Let’s be honest, his Uncle Ernie would be laughed out of Nashville nowadays with his chiseled looks and un-CMT vocals delivery. Lucky Tubb is very much his own man. He’s lived a troublesome life and has his own story to tell. He’s toured as opening act for Dwight Yoakam, Ray Price and Hank III but on this listening, I think he’s gonna be the headliner pretty soon.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Wicked Society, Pegazus, Graham Greene, Romancing The Devil, Scarlet Sins, Southern Spirit, Automan.ca, Angry Hank, Fanny Adams, Texas Rifles, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

From now on the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, Onemorename will be mostly taken all requests from you! If needed, I will fill in some of the requests. Send all requests to my email (Howard@section86.com) or Myspace Page in a comment/message during the week and I will play all requests!

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0023 (07/01/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0023 (07/01/2009)

On July 1st, The Hank in Chains Show will feature BR549 frontman Chuck Mead‘s first solo album Journeyman’s Wager. While there are hints of BR549 in spots, the Ray Kennedy produced album finds Mead exploring his many musical influences. A little CCR here, a little Beatles there, and even a little Springsteen. Yet, the album is a cohesive rockin’ country force, and a record of the year contender.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Lucky Tubb, Muddy Waters, The .357 String Band, Louis Jordan, Hank Williams III, Songs from the Road Band, Warren Zevon, The Rolling Stones, The Hackensaw Boys, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Cornpone.

The Hank in Chains Show

On June 24th, after a long hiatus, The Hank in Chains Show returned to the internet airwaves! With a new and improved format, expect a great night of music and commentary. Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Bob Dylan, Jerry Cantrell, Scott H. Biram, Stone Temple Pilots, Raul Malo, The Gaslight Anthem, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Memphis in the Meantime, thenewno2, Hayes Carll, Chuck Mead, Screaming Trees, and Joey Allcorn.
