The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0036 (05/26/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0036 (05/26/2009)

On Wednesday, May 26th, The Hank in Chains Show returns with a feature on Bob Dylan’s underrated 1978 record, “Street Legal”. On the heels of his mid-70s classic albums “Blood on the Tracks” and “Desire”, Dylan released a record that sported abstract lyrics and a big production sound similar to Springsteen’s “Born to Run”. Often unfairly criticized because of that production, it is often forgotten when Dylan fans discuss his greatest records. On this week’s show, we’ll give it the love it deserves.

Other music this week from: Stone Temple Pilots, The Black Keys, Hank Williams III, Jimi Hendrix, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, James Scott Bullard, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Buddy Holly, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, James Hand, The Drive By Truckers, and Merle Haggard.

The White Trash Revival Episode #0046

The White Trash Revival
Episode #0046

On Episode 46 we have no guests , but there is so much god damned music on here it would be perfect for a shotgun wedding reception……or even an inbred family reunion.  Speakin of inbred family reunions, all the ones I’ve been to usually turn into a drunken fnckfest.  So grab a case of Ol Mill , some bottom shelf wine, the strongest stuff you can get at the liquor store, and your hottest cousin with most of their teeth and let the fnckfest begin.  There are 26 songs on this show ……you will not find another podcast that plays this much music on a single show.

Here are the artists on this episode: Hank Williams III, Shotgun Gambling, Johnny Cash, The Brass Knuckle Band, Waylon Jennings, Bo Porter, Whiskey ThrottleFreddy Powers, Old Country Death, The Funeral and the Twilight, The Gunhands, .357 Stringband, GCDC, Caddilac Bill & The Creepin Bent, Randy Weeks, The Blind Cats, Young Brothers, Eugene Chrysler, No Dice, Eve Hell & The Razors, The Devil Makes 3, Ferlin Husky, Nick Krause and his Austin Torpedos, Possum Hollow Boys, Chilli and The Baracudas, and more.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0035 (03/03/2010)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0035 (03/03/2009)

On March 3rd, in addition to an independent-artist heavy lineup, The Hank in Chains Show will feature REM‘s underrated gem of an album, 1996’s “New Adventures in Hi-Fi”. The album was the last to feature the entire original lineup and was written mostly while the band was on a world tour. Unfortunately ignored by fans and the media, “New Adventures in Hi-Fi” is winner and is truly one of the band’s greatest records.

Other music this week from: Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Buffalo Killers, Wolfmother, The Fleshtones, The Avett Brothers, Thieves and Liars, Pearl Jam, Deer Tick, The Petty Bones, Dwight Yoakam, and Songs from the Road Band.
