It Burns When I Pee Episode #0023 “Carnies Are A Girls Best Friend”

It Burns When I Pee
Episode #0023 “Carnies Are A Girls Best Friend”

2009 has arrived we bet that you have already given up on your New Year’s resolutions… so we are proud to release the first installment of It Burns When I Pee of 2009! In this episode we feature an interview with Bob Wayne of Bob Wayne and The Outlaw Carnies. Bob talks about his music, Nashville, the Seattle music scene, and his close call with being a carnie. We are going to play songs from all three of his albums as well.

Blake and Norma Jean also have alot to talk about. We talk about Creepy Guys fantasy football Super Bowl Championship, how Norma Jean likes her Christmas present, and the IBWIP trip to Champaign, IL to see Split Lip Rayfield. Not to mention that Norma Jean is told that she is the devil by a priest! During the live feed we tried to get listeners to donate to the show so Norma Jean would take her top off but it was a no go, so Blake dropped his pants. Needless to say it wasn’t as popular. Our skit for this episode is VH1 Behind The Music IBWIP style. Throughout the show you’ll hear what the future holds for all the cast members of IBWIP. You’ll be suprised for sure.

Of course we have some great music to play as well. We are going to play songs from Rodeo Kill and Kings Of Hell. As always we are looking for fans to send us requests of bands/artists to play on the show. So make sure you send us an email and let us know who you want to hear.

We also want to send a quick thanks to all our fans who voted for us as Best Real Country Music Podcast during the Hank III Coalition CMA Awards. As a bonus we have an interview with Big G from Big G’s Texas Roadshow.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0021 (12/17/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0021 (12/17/2008)

Episode 21 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of the incredible band, The Drive-By Truckers. Even though they have been classified as a southern rock band, they aren’t exactly mindless stars-and-bars-waving rebs. Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley, and the band may be proud of their roots, but they also aren’t afraid to point out the ugly sides of certain sects of Southern life as well… much like the great Southern gothic writers of decades past. Oh… and the sound of their classic triple-guitar attack never gets old!

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Nirvana, Jerry Lee Lewis, Graham Lindsey, The Pine Box Boys, BR549, John Fogerty, Stone Temple Pilots, Double Eagle Standard, The Gin Palace Jesters, Buddy Holly, Horse Cave Trio, The Dry County Crooks, and Pearl Jam.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0022 “Have Yourself A Very Burning X-MAS”

It Burns When I Pee
Episode #0022 “Have Yourself A Very Burning X-MAS”

Here we are at the end of 2008. It’s been a wild ride here at Get Your Hank On Studio. In the season of giving we bring you Episode 22 “Have Yourself A Very Burning Christmas”. In this episode Blake, Norma Jean, and Creepy Guy are all back in the studio together with special guest NTBNTBBTOB! We’ve wrapped up a great show for you and hope that you enjoy it.

Our featured artist is the amazingly beautiful and wonderfully talented Little Lisa Dixie. We have a great interview with her and we are going to play some of her songs. We are also going to play some cuts from Eric Kinsey & His Tip Top Daddies, Nine Pound Hammer, Zane Campbell, and Mr. Chill & The Witnesses.

We are also bringing back the fan favorite Norma Jean Watches Porn. We are replacing Earlene’s Sexy Time Advice segment with the new Creepy Advice segment. Yes it’s true… Creepy Guy is going to answer a fans letter and give some advise. What kind of show would it be without a IBWIP skit? In this episode the skit is titled, “IBWIP Meets Santa At The Mall”. Finally, we break out the presents and have the first ever IBWIP Gift Exchange. I think it’s safe to say there will be some questionable gifts given out! We also talk about when we stopped believing in Santa Claus, Creepy Guy going down on Blake’s mom, and a whole lot more.

So sit next to the fire, snuggle up to that special someone and wait for Santa to come down the chimney while listening to another great installment of It Burns When I Pee. Don’t forget that you can check out “The Making” of Episode 22 on our Ustream page. We are going to make the video cast a fixture of the show.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0020 (12/10/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0020 (12/10/2008)

Episode 20 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of legendary country singer/songwriter, Merle Haggard. In many ways the bridge between Buck Owens and Waylon Jennings, Haggard’s music was in many ways just as “outlaw” as the country artists that made the term popular in the 1970s, if not more so. In addition to being the master of the prison number, Haggard has explored several other topics in his songs during his long, illustrious career, and is truly one of the greatest songwriters and stylists in the history of music.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: John Lennon, Robert Johnson, Fred Eaglesmith, Brendan Benson, Dale Watson, White Iron Band, The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, Caitlin Rose, Howlin Wolf, Scott Weiland, The Dirty Guv’nahs, and Mudcrutch.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0019 (12/03/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0019 (12/03/2008)

Episode 19 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature The Beatles‘ legendary self-titled album, better known as “The White Album”. Each of the Fab Four contributed writings to the album, and even though one could say the record was a compilation of mostly solo efforts, it still somehow manages to sound more than just cohesive. It’s a perfect musical work of art that still captivates listeners 40 years since its release.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Cream, Elvis Presley, Jordan Zevon, The God-Fearing Atheists, Brazilbilly, Joe Grushecky, Aerosmith, Marty Robbins, The Love Me Nots, AC/DC, Neil Young, The Smokin Bandits, and The Wallflowers.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0018 (11/19/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0018 (11/19/2008)

Episode 18 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of Kris Kristofferson. While his whiskey and cigarettes voice has prevented him from achieving the kind of stardom that his contemporaries Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings enjoyed, Kristofferson has always been the superior writer. A Rhodes Scholar, few songwriters in the history of music have had his masterful lyrical ability.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: John Fogerty, The Black Keys, Willie Phoenix, Townes Van Zandt, Chris Duarte, Black Gasoline, Warren Zevon, Hank Williams III, Dave Arcari, The Drive-By Truckers, John Prine, Those Poor Bastards, and Justin Townes Earle.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0017 (11/12/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0017 (11/12/2008)

Episode 17 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of Soundgarden. When grunge broke into mainstream radio in the early 1990s, Soundgarden was certainly one of the best bands of the scene. Inspired equally by both Led Zeppelin and heavy metal, they were led by one of the greatest frontmen in rock and roll history, Chris Cornell. Mr. Ecks and Jared will present and discuss songs from one of the most powerful rock bands of the past thirty years.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Black Label Society, Gram Parsons, O’Death, The Beatles, Crazy Joe and His Mad River Outlaws, Double Eagle Standard, BB King, The Trainwreks, Creech Holler, Ryan Adams, The North Mississippi Allstars, and our favorite band, The Sons of Perdition.
