As we near the witching hour, IBWIP brings you their 2nd Annual Halloween Special. On this epiosde we preview some songs from Devil’s Ruin Record’s new compilation CD: Rodentia: The Best of Dark Roots Music. We play songs from Strawfoot, The Dad Horse Experiance, Christian Williams, Lonesome Wyatt & The Holy Spooks, and our good friend Slackeye Slim. We also spend some time talking to Slackeye Slim during our interview segment.

Your probably thinking to yourself, “That’s a jammed packed show!” but IBWIP doesn’t stop there. During the show we launch our newest segment, “Earlene’s Sexy Time Advice Segment.” Earlene gives advise to a listener who emailed us about his sex troubles. With Creepy Guy on house arrest, Norma Jean steps up as Co-Host and hit’s a GRAND SLAM! She talks about her trip to Sin City, her birthday, and you’ll never guess what she offers up to the fans. It’s a must hear! The IBWIP auction, our professional photo shoot with Redcorn Studios, and we get clarification on EP19’s question of “What is chalkin?” are just a couple more topics we hit on.

Episode 15 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the most revolutionary era of one of music’s most revolutionary artists: Bob Dylan. In the mid 60s, Dylan plugged in his electric guitar, sticking his middle finger up at his folk music fans who demanded that he keep making protest songs until he died… much like one of his heroes, Woody Guthrie. Instead of focusing on a folk music future, Dylan went on to fuse rock and roll with his own brand of complex and sometimes abstract poetry, bringing a level of creativity to rock that has yet to be surpassed. Mr. Ecks and Jared Morningstar will examine a selection of Dylan songs from this era, and discuss how they have inspired singer/songwriters for decades.

Episode 14 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature one of the greatest, and darkest, albums in the history of music: Bruce Springsteen‘s 1982 release “Nebraska”. Originally intended to be recorded as a full E-Street Band album, Springsteen instead decided to release the album as it was recorded: a collection of solo acoustic home recordings. A dark road trip across the economically depressed Great Plains, “Nebraska”, with its sometimes desperate characters, is a unique listening experience… especially with all of the lights turned off. Eric Morningstar and Jared Morningstar will examine this masterpiece of a recording, and discuss why it’s so memorable… even for people who don’t generally enjoy Springsteen‘s music.

Episode 13 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of the legendary Hank Williams Sr. on what would have been his 85th birthday. Williams, who died tragically at the age of 29, left a body of work behind him during his brief six year recording career that has inspired generations of country and rock artists… and will continue to do so in the years to come. In addition to his own music, the episode will also feature other artists’ recordings of Williams songs that he never recorded himself.

Episode #0019 “So Many Jugs… So Little Time”

As the summer comes to a close, we heat up the inter-net with another socially inappropriate episode of It Burns When I Pee. Norma Jean (and her kissin partners: Sarah Bear & Natalie), along with Creepy Guy and NTBNTBBTOB join me in Get Your Hank On Studio and we bring you a jammed packed show. In this episode we feature an interview with the band BIG JUGS. These guys are awesome and we were honored to have the whole band on the show. We will also spin a couple of songs from their new album, “Ridin’ Dirty”.

We are going to rack up a special dedication for the late great Don Helms, and of course we can’t have a September show without showing some love to the birthday man himself… HANK WILLIAMS. If you haven’t heard, The Meat Purveyors got back together to do a new album and we have an exclusive track from that album to play. There will also be a great song from the band Politically Erect along with a Rolling Stones song. I know… we are all over the board on this episode. Ha Ha Ha!

We talk about tons of stuff in this episode as well. BEWARE: Norma Jean is drunk and Ryan is under the weather, but we still had a great time. We talk about our trip to the Metal Farm Magazine Release Party, the IBWIP Auction, fan feedback, and we press play and have Norma Jean and her kissin partners watch some more porn. Of course we are not going to leave you itching for some comedy, we have another great IBWIP Dating Game skit. This time host Blake Clayton is the guy looking for “Ms.Right”.
