In this episode we feature Joey Henry of The Calamity Cubes and Joey Henry’s Dirty Sunshine Club. Joey is an amazing storyteller and his song “Kite†is just one example of his talents. We talk to Joey about storytelling, where he finds inspiration, and the emotional journey that his songs evoke for him as well as his audience. We talk about The Dirty Sunshine Club and all that it encompasses. Finally we dive into the his song “Kite†from the Calamity Cubes album, “Long Cold Winterâ€. Joey really opens up and shares not only how the song was born but also about the story that inspired the song. It was an honor to have Joey on the show and it was even more of an honor to have him be so honest and vulnerable in his discussion with us. He is an amazing person and his music is medicine to thousands.
