The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0027 (11/18/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0027 (11/18/2009)

This week’s episode of The Hank in Chains Show features Alice in Chains‘ first new album in over 13 years, “Black Gives Way to Blue”. Marred by addiction and the eventual tragic death of founding lead vocalist Layne Staley of 2002, only a few years ago no one ever assumed we’d ever hear from Alice in Chains again. However, after a few special reunion shows, guitarist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Inez, and drummer Sean Kinney got the itch to bring the band back. They recruited former Comes with the Fall vocalist William DuVall to recreate Alice in Chains’ outstanding harmony vocals. People doubted the band, especially DuVall, but “Black Gives Way to Blue” has proven the critics wrong in a big way.

Other music this week from: The Drive-By Truckers, Warren Zevon, Hank Williams III, The Reverend Horton Heat, Eleven Hundred Springs, Gram Parsons, George Harrison, The Kinks, Stone Temple Pilots, Songs from the Road Band, The Black Keys, and Jimi Hendrix.

Bootleg Asylum Radio Show
Episode #0049 (10/09/2009)

“Alice What Are You Doing Here? Just Admit That Your Sick!”

This weeks featured bootleg set was recorded on October 23, 2006 @ the Warner Theater in Washington, DC with the Nightmare himself Alice Cooper. Alice Cooper, born Vincent Damon Furnier February 4, 1948, is an American rock singer, songwriter, and musician whose career spans more than four decades. With a stage show that features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors and baby dolls, Cooper has drawn equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock to pioneer a grandly theatrical and violent brand of heavy metal that was designed to shock.

Also I play a couple of 3 song blocks from David Shelley Band and The Bastards Of Apocalypse.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Automan, Broken Family Band, Chevelle, Day Minus 7, Toys In The Forest, Sonny Landreth, Omar Dykes & Jimmy Vaughan, Eleven Hundred Springs, Led Zeppelin, Nazareth, Dio, and more.

From now on the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, Onemorename will be mostly taken all requests from you! If needed, I will fill in some of the requests. Send all requests to my email (Howard@section86.com) or Myspace Page in a comment/message during the week and I will play all requests!

Thanks for all your support of the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, much respect to all that give it a try!
This week’s featured bootleg artist is Alice In Chains. And as always, I end the show with a song from my Dad’s band Roy Fox and the Country Blues. Other artists on this show include: Clinton Miller, Pumpjack, Gov’t Mule, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Dwight Yoakam, Carmen Lee, Sammytown Jones, Bob Wayne, Buck Owens, and An American Starlet.
