Bootleg Asylum Radio Show
Episode #0060 (03/19/2010)

“Solitary Confinement #0001”

Something new at the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show starting this week.  Solitary Confinement is going to be a bi-weekly podcast that focuses on one artist/band’s bootleg set only; Up to an hour long.  Episode#1 of Solitary Confinement features the band Led Zeppelin.  Led Zeppelin’s eponymous debut album was released on 12 January 1969, during their first US tour.  The album’s blend of blues, folk and eastern influences with distorted amplification made it one of the pivotal records in the creation of heavy metal music.  This show was recorded 4/27/1969 in the Avocado Club at the Filemore West in San Fansisco, CA. only 3 months after the release of there first album.  Classic ZEP!!

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0034 (02/17/2010)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0033 (02/03/2009)

On February 17th, The Hank in Chains Show returns on its new home, Ustream.tv! In addition to the great music from all genres that you’ve come to expect, the first Ustream episode of the show will focus the music of Warren Zevon. It isn’t the first time we’ve featured Zevon, and it certainly will not the last. This time, we will be taking a look at a few different styles and themes of the sadly underrated late singer/songwriter who was far more than “Werewolves of London”. Make sure to be a part of the show’s new era and tune in!

Other music this week from: John Lennon, Porter Wagoner, Dana Fuchs, Led Zeppelin, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The White Stripes, Robbie Fulks, Steve Earle, Hank Williams III, Split Lip Rayfield, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and BR5-49.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0029 (12/03/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0029 (12/03/2009)

This week on The Hank in Chains Show, we will feature The Songs from the Road Band‘s new album, “As the Crow Flies”. While the term “underground supergroup” may be a musical oxymoron, in the case of the Songs from the Road Band, it makes perfect sense. Luckily for us, the hodgepodge of Asheville, North Carolina bluegrass all stars appears like it won’t stop recording or performing any time soon. “As the Crow Flies” is, in our opinion, the best bluegrass album of 2009. You won’t want to miss this week’s show!

Other music this week from: Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, The Low Anthem, The Gutter Twins, Jerry Cantrell, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Those Poor Bastards, John Lennon, Joey Allcorn, and The Gin Palace Jesters.

“Alice What Are You Doing Here? Just Admit That Your Sick!”

This weeks featured bootleg set was recorded on October 23, 2006 @ the Warner Theater in Washington, DC with the Nightmare himself Alice Cooper. Alice Cooper, born Vincent Damon Furnier February 4, 1948, is an American rock singer, songwriter, and musician whose career spans more than four decades. With a stage show that features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors and baby dolls, Cooper has drawn equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock to pioneer a grandly theatrical and violent brand of heavy metal that was designed to shock.

Also I play a couple of 3 song blocks from David Shelley Band and The Bastards Of Apocalypse.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Automan, Broken Family Band, Chevelle, Day Minus 7, Toys In The Forest, Sonny Landreth, Omar Dykes & Jimmy Vaughan, Eleven Hundred Springs, Led Zeppelin, Nazareth, Dio, and more.

From now on the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, Onemorename will be mostly taken all requests from you! If needed, I will fill in some of the requests. Send all requests to my email (Howard@section86.com) or Myspace Page in a comment/message during the week and I will play all requests!

“That Girl With Coal Black Eyes”

No bootleg set on this podcast; Instead I play the complete self titled album from the Ingham County Regulars.  A local band from my neck of the woods out of Lansing, Michigan in Ingham county, where they were; You guessed it; Regulars.  Taking the stage on May 17, 2002 and armed with an arsenal of original songs at Dagwood’s Tavern in Lansing, they have since become regular fixtures through-out the state and beyond.  I.C.R. is made up of brothers Marty Portier (vocals/guitar) and Jason Portier (bass/vocals), Jesse Soriano (drums/vocals), and Chris Diener (lead guitar/vocals).

Also I feature 2 three song blocks of music, one from Robert Gordon w/ Danny Gatton and the other from David Allen Coe.

Other artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include:  Pump, SuperHeavyGoatAss, Kodiak Jack, Gunslingers, Wolfcreek, Night Horse, Pastorpastor Blues Band, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Sasquatch and the Holy Hellraisers, and more.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0020 (12/10/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0020 (12/10/2008)

Episode 20 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of legendary country singer/songwriter, Merle Haggard. In many ways the bridge between Buck Owens and Waylon Jennings, Haggard’s music was in many ways just as “outlaw” as the country artists that made the term popular in the 1970s, if not more so. In addition to being the master of the prison number, Haggard has explored several other topics in his songs during his long, illustrious career, and is truly one of the greatest songwriters and stylists in the history of music.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: John Lennon, Robert Johnson, Fred Eaglesmith, Brendan Benson, Dale Watson, White Iron Band, The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, Caitlin Rose, Howlin Wolf, Scott Weiland, The Dirty Guv’nahs, and Mudcrutch.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0017 (11/12/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0017 (11/12/2008)

Episode 17 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of Soundgarden. When grunge broke into mainstream radio in the early 1990s, Soundgarden was certainly one of the best bands of the scene. Inspired equally by both Led Zeppelin and heavy metal, they were led by one of the greatest frontmen in rock and roll history, Chris Cornell. Mr. Ecks and Jared will present and discuss songs from one of the most powerful rock bands of the past thirty years.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Black Label Society, Gram Parsons, O’Death, The Beatles, Crazy Joe and His Mad River Outlaws, Double Eagle Standard, BB King, The Trainwreks, Creech Holler, Ryan Adams, The North Mississippi Allstars, and our favorite band, The Sons of Perdition.

Episode #0014

Thanks for all your support of the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, much respect to all that give it a try!
This week’s featured bootleg artist is Alice In Chains. This show was recorded LIVE in 1992 somewhere in Canada.  It is a very great quality sounding set from the best era of the band.  Also Jared Morningstar and OneMoreName will review the brand new album by Eleven Hundred Springs called Country Jam which was released earlier this year. And as always, I end the show with a song from my Dad’s band Roy Fox and the Country Blues. Other artists on this show include: Clinton Miller, Pumpjack, Gov’t Mule, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Dwight Yoakam, Carmen Lee, Sammytown Jones, Bob Wayne, Buck Owens, and An American Starlet.
